Disenfranchised Pregnancy Project aims to amplify awareness of the most marginalized pregnancy and child loss experiences. In these unprecedented times, those who have gone through reproductive events and reproductive losses that fall outside typical social narratives may feel silenced and scared to speak about their lived experiences. As discussions about these issues dwindle, folks who have experienced them may feel even more isolated and alone.
To spark courage and create meaningful connections, the Disenfranchised Pregnancy Project will share researched and anecdotal information about reproductive experiences that are often swept under the rug–if they are acknowledged at all. By hosting virtual support groups and open mic nights, we will raise our voices in safe spaces and acknowledge the baby-shaped holes in our hearts in poems, songs, and equally powerful moments of silence. Whether you have experienced disenfranchised reproductive events or losses yourself, or you simply want to learn more about this issue, we welcome you to explore our website and get involved in our community!
